OUR MISSION
Our mission is to prepare and teach students to effectively utilize resources, tools, and relationships in order to succeed as world citizens in an unpredictable future.
OUR VISION
Students of Capitol Learning Academy will enter their futures with flexible mindsets, resourceful approaches to problem-solving and an ability to work with colleagues of multiple perspectives.
They will understand and appreciate differences of opinions and utilize these differences to deepen their approach to problem-solving.
CLA graduates will be genuinely comfortable with new and unknown technologies. They’ll be able to seamlessly adapt to different brands, makes, and models of technology, making the most of all available resources. They will maximize the potential of their mental and physical tools to achieve success.

Capitol Learning Academy will prepare young people who are ready to lead in an ever-changing world. As a school, we will set the standard for progressive education, not just in Washington, D.C., but worldwide. We will be a model of innovative learning practices and intentional diversity. Our graduates will go on to thrive. They will make a difference in their communities in ways we can’t even imagine.
PHILOSOPHY
We believe that learning never stops. We believe great educators cultivate a lifelong love of knowledge in students and launch a never-ending quest for more learning. We believe the best teachers admit when they don’t know the answers--in doing so, these teachers demonstrate that learning is a constant process. We believe that we can all learn, and we can all help one another do so, every day.

OUR TUITION MODEL
Our goal is to make Capitol Learning Academy an affordable option to any family in DC that wishes to attend. Tuition will be determined according to each family's individual circumstances. We will utilize information such as annual household income, assets and number of children to determine a tuition rate unique to each family that applies. This creates "indexed tuition," recognizing each family's differing ability to contribute as valued and committed members of the CLA community.
