With crime and tragedy come many losses, including finances, property, personal safety, loss of life, privacy and control. The most devastating losses are the emotional pain and distress accompanying these unimaginable life situations. Victims are often overcome with grief, shock, sadness, fear, and confusion when it does.

Chatham-Kent Victim Services offers various crisis intervention services to persons affected by crime, tragedy, disaster, and traumatic situations. Our emergency crisis support services, which are accessible through Police, Emergency Services, and Community Service Partners, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With a team of dedicated volunteer Crisis Responders, we help victims cope with the impact of crime, tragedy, and trauma. Our professional, in-house Crisis Support staff facilitate and coordinate wrap-around care and educate survivors on local resources and appropriate support services in the community. We also work to educate the broader public by offering training opportunities on various topics.

Having a helping hand and listening ear in the immediate aftermath of a crisis can help people get back on their feet more quickly. We help clients on the road to recovery and healing by connecting them with dedicated community support. Every year, the number of people we support increases as more and more people become aware of our services.
