Children's Surger International is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization focused on strengthening communities by providing medical education and training for health care workers and free surgical services to children around the world. Our volunteer surgical teams have traveled to Haiti, Liberia, Ghana, Mexico, Peru, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Vietnam, where people with limited resources may be denied even the most basic medical care. My husband recently returned from Liberia, where the team performed 85 surgeries, making a huge impact on those kiddos, their families, and their community.
