The Love, Chloe Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on Childhood Cancer. The foundation has three main focuses including Local Family Support, the Monkey In My Chair Program and childhood Cancer Research. The foundation also helps to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer with an annual campaign each September.
Love, Chloe was started in in 2008 in memory of Chloe Amanda Feyerherm. Chloe was an amazing 7-year-old that was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) in 2006. She loved dancing, singing, shopping and monkeys! Her love of school and monkeys is the inspiration behind the program, Monkey In My Chair.
1. Local Family Support – The foundation supports local families by providing financial assistance and support baskets. These baskets include information about various resources and other items for the child to use during long drives, treatments and/or hospital stays.
2. Monkey In My Chair – This is a program that is designed to help pre-school and elementary school children with cancer stay connected with their class. Each child is provided a “monkey kit” which includes a big stuffed monkey, backpack, journal, photo album, children’s book and other items to help encourage communication between the child and their school. The monkey goes to school when the child cannot and can take their place in all school activities. The program is being implemented across the United States

3. Childhood Cancer Research – The foundation helps to fund research through the DIPG Collaborative. This is a collaboration of many individual foundations in order to pool together money to fund multiple grants each year. The research is being conducted by some of the top researchers in the field.
