Lupus Ontario funds lupus research and helps spread much-needed awareness for this debilitating, under-recognized disease affecting approximately 1 in 1,000 Ontarians.  Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body attacks itself causing inflammation, and pain, and can damage any organ in the body, leading to a variety of symptoms.  This makes lupus difficult to diagnose.  There is no known cure but if treated properly, it can be managed.  Lupus Ontario has been supporting those with lupus for over 40 years by providing vital support, education, awareness, advocacy and research through fundraising efforts to help them live longer, healthier and better lives.
