The purpose of the Women's Centre of Halton (TWCH) is to offer support to women experiencing crisis, distress, or transition in a caring, confidential, non-judgmental, safe space. Our mission is to invest in all women through barrier-free access to safe and supportive programs and services which promote inclusivity, equality and empowerment. TWC aims to foster independence by meeting women at whatever stage they are in their journey, recognizing it is not always linear, and provide them with agency. Empowering women is at the root of our philosophy and we strive to offer a space to learn, grow, be heard, accepted, recognize and realize their value. We also aim to promote a community where women feel like they belong and support each other on their journey. TWCH aims to be an exemplary leader in the community and works to realize a future in which all women are safe, empowered and thriving.

In the wake of the pandemic, we are experiencing what is widely regarded as a “She-cession”. Women were disproportionately impacted by job loss, caregiving burdens, loss of child care, inability to access health care and rise in domestic violence rates. In 2023, rising inflation and interest rates means more gendered implications on quality of life, well-being, and access to basic needs like safe housing and food. TWCH’s programs and services are needed more now than ever. With your support, the Centre is able to provide the much needed programs and services to women in Halton, such as; one-on-one peer support, legal clinic, free psychotherapy/counselling, employment coaching, life skills coaching, financial advising, support groups, access to technology, and a variety of workshops.
