McCurtain Memorial Hospital is located in Idabel, Oklahoma (McCurtain County). We are a non for profit hospital serving a county of close to 31,000 people. Our hospital is a critical access hospital. There are very few critical access hospitals that have obstetrics, and we are blessed to say starting in September we will open our obstetrics department which will include a women's and children clinic. Currently mother's are having to travel a minimum of 60+ miles to receive this service. Because of the distance and how poor our community is this leads to no prenatal care, or very sick infants and mother's. Our hospital has never had a women or children's clinic, so we are having to completely remodel our current clinic to fit the needs of these patients.
