MiMS is a nonprofit organzation operating in Oakland. California. Our mission is to increase the number of undrepresented health professionals through mentoring, career,exposure and leadership development. In 2004 three physicians and an educator formed mentoring in Medicine Inc. (MIMS) in New York, NY. Mentoring in Medicine & SCience , Inc. (MIMS) was created using the shared mission of MIM to develop programs and outreach in Oakland CA. Since its inception in March 2006, MIMS programs have impacted over 3500 students and recruited over 150 health professional volunteers in the bay area to partner in its mission to increase diversity in health workforce.
