The Mickey Cox Elementary Parent Club raises money for over 600 students to be used for a variety of purposes, such as playground equipment, computers, team uniforms, and additional supplies for the classroom. The U.S. Department of Education has recognized Mickey Cox as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Mickey Cox has also been recognized as a California distinguished School by the California Department of Education. Mickey Cox Demonstrates Academic Achievement, community involvement, and additional supportive programs above and beyond the expected school program.
Additionally, the Mickey Cox Parent Club gives to the local community by organizing events such as canned food drives to be donated back to a local homeless shelter. In February 2022, Mickey Cox Parent Club donated over 8,000 non-perishable food, toiletries, household items, and clothing.
