Minuteman Disaster Response (MDR) is a 501 (c)(3) organization that helps rebuild the lives of those affected by natural disasters in communities across Texas and states from Oklahoma to Florida. Founded during a historic Joplin Tornado in 2011, Minuteman Disaster Response has committed itself to assist in a disaster's immediate aftermath by deploying highly-trained and equipped volunteers. The manpower and services of MDR are provided at no charge to the recipients. In 2022, Minuteman Disaster Response made numerous deployments in Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Florida. In addition to responding to these natural disasters, our volunteers were also called out to assist law enforcement with missing person searches, fugitive search, and open water recoveries. Throughout the past year, 160 volunteers gave of their time. Volunteers donated 9,300 man-hours to serve disaster-impacted communities, providing a $280,000 economic impact on those communities.
