Riverwalk Adult Day Services 'as we live' mission, is to provide a safe, social, stimulating environment for adults in need of daytime care, ensuring our community is a great place for people of ALL ages. Riverwalk was founded 40 years ago to provide daytime care for adults who cannot be left home alone and respite for caregivers. As an adult day services center, Riverwalk combats the depression and health risks associated with social isolation for both the care receiver and the care giver. Riverwalk Adult Day Services empowers family members to work or enjoy respite during the day while their loved ones are cared for by registered nurses and trained staff. With over 750,000 hours of service to families in the Naperville area, Riverwalk Adult Day Services delivers their mission to provide a Safe, Social, Stimulating Environment for Adults in need of daytime care. In September 2023 Riverwalk will be launching Riverwalk Recreational Services which will serve younger special needs adults that have transitioned out of district programs.
Riverwalk Adult Day Services is a 501(c)3 located in downtown Naperville in the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center. Founded in 1983, as Ecumenical Adult Care of Naperville, in 2018 the name was changed to Riverwalk Adult Day Services to be more inclusive and to take advantage of the association and proximity to the Riverwalk and it beautiful parks and walks.
Riverwalk's adult day services program provides daytime care with medical monitoring, life-enriching activities, nutritious noon meal and snacks to people with chronic illness or conditions such as dementia, Alzheimers, Parkinson's Disease, Downs Syndrome, etc. Riverwalk provides full day, 1/2 day and 2-3 hour drop in services for the community.
