The not-for-profit, 501.c.3 foundation, which has close connections with Case Western Reserve University, partners Cleveland, Ohio inner-city middle school students (protégés) with local professionals (mentors) that work in a field of interest to the student. Motivation is vital to the success of this program. Due to a multitude of obstacles—some real and some imagined—many of the students who come into this program believe that success is out of their reach. The mentors must first convince these students that it is not. The Foundation focuses on the theory that education + desire = success, and with both education and desire, success is not only possible, it should be expected. Mentors are also called upon to point out potential pitfalls along the way, and to share their own personal stories of overcoming adversity. Mentors stress the importance of passing the proficiency test in order to receive a high school diploma. To the students in this program college will become an expectation, not just an aspiration. Protégés generally enter the program during their 8th grade school year. Once a mentor has been teamed up with a protégé, the hope is that they will remain partnered throughout high school and college and eventually, as the student enters the professional work force. Our ultimate dream is that protégés go to college, succeed, and then come back to the foundation to be mentors. Every protégé that has stayed in the program until 12th grade & graduated has gone on to college.

Goal One: To Provide Motivation for Education
Goal Two: To Establish and Build a Positive Relationship
Goal Three: To Provide Career Advice and Direction
Goal Four: To Offer a Network for Success

The money we raise helps us to provide one-time freshman college scholarships ($1,000 or $1,500) to our high school seniors. Our children are the future of our country & our mentor program helps to guide & direct the protégés to go to college & to make something of themselves as adults. The only fundraising event we do each year is this silent auction, which will provide them scholarships to go to college.
