San Juan Children’s Education Foundation is 501(C)(3) organization established by parents and community members to support the students of San Juan Elementary in providing every child the opportunity to achieve academic success. The Foundation is staffed entirely by parent volunteers who are passionate about creating an exceptional learning environment for our children. Part of the Foundation’s ongoing support is to provide educational enrichment programs for students. The Foundation currently provides funding for the K-3 music program, school librarian, ST Math computer program, teacher grants for items such as band and orchestra instruments, robotics, 3D printers, sheep hearts for dissection, and outdoor science school for fifth graders. These programs engage students as a means to augment the Common Core curriculum with alternate learning opportunities.  It is our hope that all students can achieve academic success and are inspired to further their education at the college level and beyond.

Two-Way Immersion Program - In September 2004, our school was selected to implement a Two-Way Language Immersion program.  Beginning in Kindergarten, native Spanish-speaking and native English-speaking students study together to become bilingual and biliterate. This program offers our students the priceless gift of fluency and literacy in two languages:  English AND Spanish.

Title 1 School – Our school is located across from the historic San Juan Capistrano Mission and is comprised of a diverse group of children from San Juan Capistrano and surrounding cities. San Juan Elementary has approximately 66% of families that currently qualify as low income.
