Our Mission is to promote the welfare of the community by providing services and support to youth, seniors, disabled and disaster victimes. 

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Santa Clara Firefighters Local 1171. The Santa Clara Firefighters are affiliated with the IAFF. The Foundation is a fully aunthorized, non-profit charitable organization501(c)(3) that is committed to helping those in need within the City of Santa Clara and any others with specific needs outside of the area.

The City of Santa Clara Firefighters are deeply involved in communtiy service. We feel truly blessed to be a part of a noble profession that has a long standing reputation for helping anyone in need. Supporting these noble causes is one way for our firefighters to give back to the community. Santa Clara and its citizens show strong support for thier public safety providers. This is out way of returning to the community our appreciation for that support.

Below are the progarms that our Foundation supports throughout the year:

Better Together: Firefighters provide mentoring to youth at Santa Clara Unified School District middle schools.  The program involves exercises that help build self-confidence, self-esteem and team building.

William Purvis Community Service Scholarship: Awarded to local high school students for outstanding community service.

Senior Assist Program: Off-duty firefighters form work groups to help those that have difficulty in the upkeep of their property.  Services include weed abatement and general yard cleanup.

Local School Grants: Funds have been used to purchase reources and supplies for classrooms for physically disabled students in addition to other special programs.

Bike build in partnership with Turning Wheels for Kids: A program that donates, builds, and gives away bicycles to promote health and fitness in children and young adults.

VIA Rehabilitation Services: Funds are used to send physically disabled Santa Clara citizens to summer camps where they are allowed to enjoy activities with other disabled persons.

Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation: Fundas raised for this foundation are used to send children physically affected by fires to Champ Camp, a fun outdoor camp where kids can be kids.
