The City of Shenandoah was incorporated in 1871 and today employs a mayor-council form of government with a professional City Manager. We have 5 city council members who serve 4 year terms. Shenandoah currently has a population of approximately 5,500 and encompasses approximately 4 square miles in area located in the fertile rolling hills of southwest Iowa about 60 miles southeast of Omaha, Nebraska. We like to think that we provide an easy place to live and do business
