Special Olympics is dedicated to enriching the lives of Ontarians with an intellectual disability through sport.
This year the Special Olympics movement celebrates 50 years of enhancing the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities through sport. In Barrie we provide year round athletic programs for over 200 athletes in 14 different sports. Every one of these athletes gets the chance to train, compete, and reach personal goals.
We are a local chapter of a nonprofit organization which in Barrie, is run totally by volunteers. Special Olympics relies on donations and fundraising to continue to provide services for persons with intellectual disabilities
