St. Andrew Legal Clinic (SALC) has been serving Oregon families in crisis for over 40 years. SALC operates on the belief that no one shall be locked out of the legal system based on their ability to earn, race, spiritual beliefs, sex, gender, mental health, national origin, or political affiliation.

We have two offices in the Portland Metro Area (Multnomah and Washington County) and we serve over 1,600 clients a year, focusing on individuals with modest financial means. With the stress of the world, domestic violence has risen and many of the families we serve are facing deeper crisis such as such as escaping domestic violence, deportation while leaving behind minor children, and making sure they'll be able to play a part in their children's lives. Over 50% of our clients (45% of these clients are minorities) make less than $16,800 per year, supporting an average of two children on this meager income. We are asking our community to help us meet the challenge of domestic violence, complex legal issues, and inter-generational poverty to ensure that every family has access to justice, regardless of income.

The clinic has been defending Oregon’s most vulnerable families since 1979 and in 43 years has helped over 70,000 Oregonians and over 85,000 children.
