St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Chicago is one of the oldest communities in the Midwest. We are the Armenian Church in Chicago. St. Gregory along with our sister parishes serve the Greater Chicagoland area communities. Our mission is to teach, proclaim and be a place of healing as we grow together in our Apostolic Faith in Christ Jesus and to sustain our Christian Armenian identity. We celebrate our long and enduring legacy, the beautiful traditions of our religious and national heritage, with Christian servitude, and with love and reverence towards our Church. This website we hope to engage families and communities, who desire to live a life centered in Christ and to become a source of inspiration for the coming generations. Though ethnically Armenian, WE WELCOME EVERYONE!!

For you to feel the genuine and inclusive characteristic of Christian worship, love, caring, hospitality, and fellowship we invite you to witness the warmth and welcoming attitude of our parish and our congregation in person

Each year the Parish of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church hosts an annual Armenian Festival attended by hundreds of people. This year we are scheduled to hold our 46th Annual Armenian Festival on August 7 and 8. The festival is held on the church’s grounds at 6700 W. Diversey, Chicago, Illinois. We, like everyone else, are coming out of hibernation to restart our pre-pandemic lives. In this vein, St. Gregory recently decided to hold a full pre-pandemic picnic complete with our traditional Silent Auction.

We realize this start-up will not fully get us back to normal, psychologically as well as financially, but nevertheless the process has begun and we are reaching out to new and past donors for Silent Auction items. The proceeds from this Festival helps ensure the continued existence of St. Gregory as it moves closer to its centennial, with this year being the 95th Anniversary of St. Gregory’s founding in Chicago. St. Gregory is considered the "Mother Church," from which other Armenian church sprang as the Armenian community spread throughout the state.
