St. Joseph's Health Hospital was founded in 1869 by the Sisters of St. Francis and has been mission-driven for more than 150 years. A 451-bed hospital, St. Joseph's provides quality health care including comprehensive preventative, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services for the residents of a 16-county service area in Central New York - called home by more than 1.86 million people. On average, more than $30 million of St. Joseph's Health Hospital's annual operating budget is comprised of charity care, unreimbursed services, and costs for community outreach service programs. In support of the organization's mission, St. Joseph's Health Foundation was founded in 1976 to help raise funds for the many award-winning programs and services provided by the hospital. St. Joseph's Health Hospital is dedicated to serving all people in need regardless of race, creed, or ability to pay. Through it's mission of service and with reverance for all people, St. Joseph's has long been committed to providing the highest level of care for Central New York residents.
