The Storm Lake community School district is a public school loacted in Northwest Iowa. The Storm Lake School serves a very diverse population as Storm Lake has a wide range of diverse cultures and ethicesities. Storm Lake is reported to have 22 different languages spoken within our community and school system. Families from around the world make their home in Storm Lake. Storm Lake has a large low income population as well as a large migrant worker population. The School serves 2500 students K-12. Due to the rich diversity in the Storm Lake area, the Storm Lake school works to provide education and extracuricular events that support those cultures. The school has a dual language program which teaches children in Spanish and English. The school promotes groups to celebrate academics, individual cultures and athletics. The school has programs to encourage community and volunteerism as well. The Storm Lake School has a Charter School program to help the students to get started in a college education at no cost to the student. This program helps to provide an opportunity to underprivledged students they likely would not have had. The Storm Lake School strives for acedemic excellence, as well as a student who respects themselves and others around them.
