The Volunteer Center of the Triad strengthens our community by creating meaningful volunteer connections. We connect people, promote volunteerism, support nonprofits, and build partnerships.

For nearly 60 years, The Volunteer Center has connected the Triad by providing opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to support our nonprofit community by fulfilling important volunteer needs. The value volunteers can add to an organization is crucial. Finding a place for individuals and businesses to make an impact is essential. Bringing our community together is what The Volunteer Center of the Triad does best.

The Volunteer Center works hard to ensure our programs align with our mission statement. We review our programs annually to ensure their effectiveness and impact. We regularly survey our nonprofit partners to identify their needs and solicit feedback regarding current programs, all to continually improve our programming. Our staff and Board of Directors have adapted and shifted as we have needed to continue to meet the needs of our nonprofit partners.

Despite the past two years of a global pandemic, The Volunteer Center has continued to see strong engagement from the community, with growth in the number of nonprofit partners engaged, sponsorship dollars raised, and the number of volunteers mobilized. In the first half of 2022, we have helped mobilize more than 30,000 volunteers in Guilford County alone. Our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service elicited more than 900 volunteers in the span of 5 hours, resulting in over 7,500 essential kits assembled and distributed to nonprofits in the Triad. The Human Race 2022, a community fundraiser for the nonprofit community, raised an additional $75,000 for our nonprofit partners, bringing the total raised by this event for the community to more than $5.2 million since its inception 28 years ago.
