As Toronto’s city-wide charity for the arts, Toronto Arts Foundation’s mission is “to celebrate and strengthen Toronto’s artists and arts organizations.” We believe that the arts have the power to benefit our Toronto communities, and we utilize such benefits of the arts through our impactful Creative City Initiatives, including:
Professional Development - offering education programming for artists, art workers and arts board members to strengthen the leadership capacity in Toronto’s arts sector, as well as to provide career opportunities for developing, newcomer, and equity-seeking artists.
Arts Events and Workshops –providing free family friendly arts activities and performances in public parks across Toronto with a focus on individuals and communities currently under-served or with limited access to the arts.
Awards – celebrating artists, cultural leaders for their creativity, cultural leaderships and contribution to cultural life in Toronto.
These crucial and inclusive arts initiatives are designed to bring the social and economic benefits of the arts to every community member in every neighbourhood of Toronto.
