Today, 1 in 44 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. I’m writing on behalf of AutismUp, the leading local autism support organization in the Greater Rochester and surrounding areas, to ask for your support. More than 3,100 families are currently receiving support through the programs and services provided by AutismUp, and the need continues to grow. Our mission is to expand and enhance programs and services that improve quality of life as children with autism grow up and become adults with autism. We host a variety of programs specifically designed to the individual needs of children on the spectrum. We host parent meets up as a social group as well as caregiver information sessions. We currently just opened a Full Life Academy progrom for our individuals who have aged out of traditional school settings, to prepare them as best we can for the life ahead of them.
