Founded in 1994, the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter is made up of over 140 volunteers. The VBAS is focused on increasing postive outcomes at the shelter, increasing adoptions, and improving the quality of life of all animals at the shelter.
Volunteers care for the animals, fundraise, and operate many life-saving programs throughout the shelter. Programs include the Kitten Foster Program that saves over 250 kittens each year, Barn Cat program, Happy Trails hikes for dogs and medical programs that the city of Burbank does not provide.
