The Whittier Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer team made up of teachers, staff, parents, and guardians. Our mission is to build connections between families, the school, and the Oak Park community. We are dedicated to promoting academic success, as well as social and emotional growth for all children at Whittier. The PTO funds numerous educational initiatives at the school, including teacher resources, fieldtrips, and special all-school programming. The PTO also funds the care and maintenance of our school, including providing facility and building upgrades, collaborative gardening, and day-to-day logistical needs. Last, the PTO funds FUN activities to bring students, teachers, staff, and families together to build strong emotional and educational connections. To fund these initiatives, we depend on the generosity of our community through monetary donations and fundraising.
