Last year we saved over 1,200 animals from facing euthanasia.
We Proatively work to address overpopulation by helping with Spay and Neuter Clinics
Provide education and support rsponsible pet ownership by Paws for Kids programs in school for K-5 Kids. Games to focus on responsible pet ownership and reinforce the important points. Also take animals into the schools and the kids who are having difficulty reading, practice reading to the dogs usually out loud. Desighed to decrease presssure and anxiety for a child that might feel reading in front of adults.
We partner with the Wichita Womens Crisis Center with free boarding and vet care for victims in a violent situation and keep them until the victim has a safe space. Also provide free boarding and vet care for the veterans animals that are going in for surgery or rehab. So many veterans won't get help because they won't leave their buddy animals.
We also help the Community Food Banks with food for animals to familes that would otherswise surrender their animals to the shelter because they can't feed animals and their kids. We also provide dog houses or straw to provide shelter for outside animals.
All our animals live in foster homes so we provide the litter, food, beds, toys, vet care until the animals are adopted to forever families.
This Is why we have our big benefit each year to be able to help families and animals.
