Yorktown Community Nursery School opened its doors nearly 70 years ago, in 1948. We are a nonprofit, nonsectarian, organization that is owned, maintained, and administered by the parents of the children enrolled in the school. At YCNS we provide a secure and nurturing environment where each child may develop self- confidence, independence, respect for others, and a joy for learning. This is accomplished through play, structured activities, and positive interactions with peers and adults. Our cooperative structure supports families, and allows parents to play an integral role in their child's early education.
Today we ask for your support to continue this tradition built so many years ago. The school is in need of a variety of upgrades, and the many programs and equipment needed to run the school can be expensive. In addition, we also strive to incorporate enrichment programs such as music and movement, creative arts, field trips, science etc. into our program that is so important to a child’s early learning. The school is trying to raise money through a variety of fundraising efforts, including our upcoming Mom's Night Out/Silent Auction at The Crystal Hall in Somers on March 6, 2020. This will be a fun night for the moms of our community to enjoy an evening out while giving back to our school. Last year, we had 75+ ladies in attendance and made a record amount of money. This year, we are hoping to double the attendees (and the profit!). The more donations we have the better our outcome will be.
We are hoping that you would be able to make a donation to help us support our school. Your contribution will not only help us to achieve our goal of continuing the tradition at YCNS, but will also serve as a fantastic advertisement within our tight-knit community, who truly appreciates those business who are willing to go out of their way and help a small non-profit preschool like ours. No gift is too small (or too large)! There are many organizations out there fundraising for worthy causes, but we hope that you will donate to our school because of the direct positive effect it has on the many children of the community that we serve.
