To Reach the Lost People in the Last Places
You Turn Ministries is actively serving to reach people in Malawi Africa and offer humanitarian aid and advancing the gospel. Malawi is the 2nd poorest country in the world, but yet is referred to as the "warm heart of Africa". Currently we are accomplishing our work in several areas.
We have 2 lighthouses (orphanages) that we feed, cloth, educate and encourage orphans. In Malawi the orphans are the "least" are always last to be fed or cared for.
WATER! with over 14K broken wells in Malawi and areas where no well is even present, women and girls are responsible for getting water for the family. This entails rising early, often in the dark, to walk an average of 3.7 miles to a "mud puddle", hopefully before the animals arrive, to gather disease ridden water that will be used for the family's survival. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs and the average girl will carry 5 gallons (40 lbs) while women will often carry 80 lbs. back to the village. You Turn partners with DOXA Wells for the drilling of new wells and repairing the broken wells so that young girls will now be able to go to school and get an education, water is clean, less disease, less death, LESS ORPHANS! DOXA has designed a replacement pump that is 40% more efficient and all are satalite monitored so that we are able to determine in real time how many hours a pump is used and how many liters have been delivered. Accountability and Sustainability are key components to the success of our program.
Food insecurities are being met as a result of water access. You Turn works with villages to increase harvest of corn through irrigation and is currently working on expanding fish farms that will address lack of nourishment for villages.
Pastor Training Schools - You Turn currently has 10 pastor training schools where students complete 2 years of training and then partner with villages to walk in a deeper relationship with God.
Church Planting - over 109 church plants have been done since 2018
Mission Trips - You Turn partners with churches, groups and organizations to focus on development of evangelism, medical missions, agricultural projects, vision trips, and water assistance projects.
