The Barnard PTA supports the strudents of Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary School. As a Mandarin immersion school, Barnard has unique needs that are not covered by the limited public school funding formula. This year we are funding a part time teacher! The PTA also raises funds to provide our students with educational field trips, tutoring support, personalized English and math learning programs, supplemental Mandarin curriculum, experiential science lessons, Mandarin-speaking interns, and more.
Together we will:
Provide support for cultural and educational programs at Barnard Elementary School;
Promote social activities that heighten school spirit, encourage family togetherness, and make a positive impact within our community;
Encourage and organize volunteer support for our school, PTA, and community events;
Increase interest, involvement, and understanding of our PTA; build awareness about the critical role of the PTA in helping students reach their full potential;
Conduct purposeful fundraising to support programs and events at Barnard Elementary School;
Collaborate with San Diego Unified School District and Mission Bay Cluster partners to support an effective and progressive path for our Mandarin immersion program that begins in kindergarten and continues through 12th grade.
