We invite you to partner with us today to prepare young people for academic and career success.

We believe every high school student should have equal access to education and career opportunities that will help them reach their full potential.

Established in 1999 as a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we prepare students for a better life. Our programs help young people gain experience, unlock doors and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career and life. We partner with local industries and high schools to deliver innovative, career-based curriculum that inspires students to explore high-skill, high-growth career opportunities. By bringing schools and industry together, we are creating new ways of learning, knocking down barriers and bringing genuine opportunity to every student we can reach.

EXP works with underserved youth in high schools located in Southern California and Barstow. Since our inception, EXP's programs and services have improved the lives and future career options of thousands of students. During our 2018-19 fiscal year alone, we served more than 6,400 students - ages 14 to 18-within 16 career pathways at 9 high schools. In addition, more than 400 business and technology professionals volunteered their time to mentor and advise students and provided them with job shadow and internship opportunities.

EXP's program team has extensive experience in effectively coordinating youth development and work-based learning activities. We collaborate with industry, educators, administrators, students, and community partners to consider barriers and challenges faced by students, deliver services that are responsive to their needs, and effectively plan activities in conjunction with school administrators and educators.

We have a strong history of connecting students with industry and creating opportunities for career exploration and awareness, such as career days, job shadow days, work readiness training and internship programs. Through these services, EXP has made a life changing difference in the lives of thousands of high school students.
We support schools in delivery of innovative, career-based programs that make classroom learning relevant and exciting. Our suite of services outside the classroom includes industry metoring, job shadow experiences and internships. We offer high-impact career exploration events, such as GPS Your Future, Women in STEM, and U.S. Coast Guard Day of Discovery. We award college scholarships annually through EXP's Oceans of Opportunity benefit dinner and scholarship celebration.
We stay with students beyond high school, providing guidance, resources and networking opportunities to our growing base of college and career focused EXP alumni.

When employers partner with EXP as sponsors and volunteers, they build relationships with their future workforce and make a positive impact on schools and communities. Together with our partners, we empower educators, engage professionals and produce resilient high school graduates who are prepared for college and career.
With our customized services educators and institution receive the benefits of EXP's 20 years of expertise in building effective programs that contextualize learning. We support classroom activities with work-based learning and career activities that make career planning and educational goal setting more meaningful for students.

By supporting our event, you are making a long-term investment in the future of your community. With your support, EXP students will gain the skills and confidence needed to become leaders in tomorrow’s workforce.

I thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration of our request. We look forward to your participation.
