The mission of the Fairview Place Neighborhood Association is to improve the safety and quality of life for all residents.  We achieve these goals by working with neighbors to identify needs and concerns and designing programs to address them.  Our programs are neighbor-driven and include input from diverse voices from within our community.  In addition, all our programs honor our designation as a historic neighborhood.

Current areas of focus are:

  • Crime and Safety:  This includes our Fairview Neighborhood Patrol, Safe Streets and Alleys (lighting, crosswalks, traffic slowing, walkability assessments, alley activation, neighborhood cleanups), and working with Phoenix CARES to address homeless encampments in the neighborhood.
  • Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR):  Humanely curbing the feral cat population in the neighborhood by trapping and fixing feral cats and adopting out those that we can.
  • Climate Resliency:  We are considered "shade disadvantaged" by the City of Phoenix.  In the hottest major city in the US, this is a challenging issue.  We also have a severe flooding problem after rain events. Projects include tree plantings and green infrastructure projects to divert nuisance storm water to beneficial use.
  • Community building:  This includes diverse events and contact to engage the widest possible audience, including a paper newsletter, social media, webpage, neighborhood meetings, patrols, happy hours, community coffees, ice cream socials, holiday parties, neighborhood cleanups, etc.  All events are dedicated to bringing neighbors together to build connections and community trust.
