Good Samaritans of Garland (Good Sam) is celebrating 40 years of feeding, helping, and serving families and individuals in need. This event supports and brings awareness to the community about Good Sam’s mission: compassionately feeding, helping, and serving food-insecure individuals and families. The community's need for services provided by Good Sam continues to grow due to the increased cost of rent and food. In 2022 the Good Sam staff and volunteers compassionately assisted over 63,000 clients, with 1,050,807 meals, a 21% increase in clients served since 2021.
